The Murray County Historical Society will host its March Dinehart Lunchbox Lecture virtually. The Dinehart Lecture Series will look a little different this season. The lectures will be available on our website for you to enjoy at home so we can continue to keep our community members safe. One positive about virtual Dinehart lectures? You do not have to worry about missing a one day, in-person event. These videos will be available on our website indefinitely so you can watch them whenever you have time!
In March of 2015, local historian, Bill Bolin spoke for a Dinehart Lunchbox Lecture back when they were still held in the Dinehart Holt House. He presented many memories of baseball in Murray County. We thought it would be a good time to bring this talk back to re-live small town baseball from the perspective of someone who loved and knew it well. Bill was a well-known historian who taught history in Tracy for 50 years. He wrote over 80 articles for the Sailor magazine. He passed-away on October 15, 2017 as the age of 82. The talk was originally longer than the video, but due to technology constraints we had to do some reduction. We hope you will enjoy what we have provided here.
*Note* The audio in both videos may be faint to hear. If you are having trouble hearing the videos, make sure your computer’s/device’s volume is all the way up. Listening with headphones is recommended.
